Welcome to the Acorns class page. Our class is made up of our youngest pupils, where we focus on developing confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning through play-based and structured activities.
We have worked hard to ensure our curriculum is as progressive as possible: we differentiate in lessons for different year groups where needed and, where it is required, we may split the classes to teach specific age objectives that are unsuitable for certain year groups. The KS1 wider curriculum is taught on a two-year topic cycle.
Here you will find useful information and resources to support your child’s learning at home.
If you have any further questions, or are struggling to find the information you need, please pop into school and I will be happy to support you.

What is my child learning this half term?
This half term, we will be learning about Hot and Cold places and where different animals come from. We will be researching their habitats, climates and living environments. We will also be looking into different animal patterns and textures in our Art lessons to create our own animal sculptures!
This time of year is very special at Stanley Common, as we come together to celebrate Christmas through our traditional Nativity, school choir performances and charity Christmas fair. These special events bring our school community together, spreading festive cheer, kindness and goodwill.
