Welcome from the Headteacher

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I would like to offer you a warm welcome to the Stanley Common C of E Primary School.

Our school has a great reputation for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere. This is something which is commented on by so many of our visitors and is one of the things on which we pride ourselves.

We are a small, caring church school with high expectations for all learners. We strive to achieve the highest possible standards whilst providing a secure and supportive environment for effective learning and personal development. The close school community work as a dedicated team to ensure we do the best for every single child.

We were very proud when both Ofsted and SIAMS graded the school as ‘Good’ in 2016. They recognised that the head teacher and staff ‘pride themselves on the rich vein of care that runs through the school,’ and our SIAMS inspection confirmed this view stating that, ‘The school provides a secure and nurturing environment where all pupils feel valued and unique within a strong family atmosphere.’ 

The staff, governors and I are looking forward to continuing to build productive partnerships with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential.  We know a strong partnership with families will make a great difference to your child's education.
