  • Tuesday 8 June 2021 Friendship Blooms Award Following Mrs Sanderson's Long Service Award from the local authority, she has also been nominated to the All Things Local magazine for a ‘Friendship Blooms’ award. This is where a deserving member of the community is nominated to receive a bouquet of flowers courtesy of All Things Local and a local florist.  Today, Karyn Milner the Editor of All Things Local visited the school to present Mrs Sanderson with the bouquet.  We're all really proud of Mrs Sanderson and her dedication to our school and the local community.
  • Tuesday 8 June 2021 New Planters The Discoverers have been busy starting to fill our wonderful new planters. They have researched the different fruits and vegetables that we will be growing and worked as a team to plant them. We would all like to say a huge “Thank You” to Mr Wain, one of our parents, for donating the planters, soil and plants. What a generous gift! The children are all really excited to get planting and see how the different plants grow.

  • Friday 30 April 2021 New Library Our project to renovate the school library is now complete. We are very pleased with the finished result. It is an inviting and relaxing area where children can choose their reading books and enjoy reading for pleasure. We would like to thank the Tesco Community Grant token scheme for donating £1000 for the project.

  • Friday 19 March 2021 Red Nose Day Kilometre On Wheels Everyone has had a great Red Nose Day and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of the fundraising efforts. We have been blown away with the donations and sponsorship so far and we're still waiting for more to be gathered in - we'll announce our final total next week.

  • Wednesday 17 March 2021 Cricket Workshop Derbyshire Cricket Foundation visited the school this week  to provide cricket workshops for all of the classes. The children had a great time learning the fundamentals of cricket. They learnt how to strike the ball effectively and worked as a team to develop their fielding skills.

  • Thursday 25 February 2021 Wellbeing and Returning to School We are all very excited about all of our wonderful children returning to school on 8th March. However, it is important that we are well prepared for the feelings and emotions some of the children (and adults) may experience during the next few weeks.We will be using some resources from a local Derby City project called Bridging The Gap which supports children's mental health and wellbeing. A return to school booklet is available to collect from school and is also attached to this message. This contains activities and information to help you with the transition back into school.   • Wednesday 24 February 2021 8th March School Reopening Dear Parents / Carers,We were very pleased to hear the announcement from the government last night that schools will be opening for all children from Monday 8th March and we are all really looking forward to having the children back in school.We are still awaiting the detailed guidance, but we have begun to start our planning for reopening school. The arrangements will be very similar to those before Christmas and full details will be sent to you next week.

  • Monday 4 January 2021 Covid-19 School Closure As you may well be aware, the prime minister, Boris Johnson, has announced a national closure of all primary schools in England and, as a result, schools will be moving to remote learning from tomorrow. Therefore, only Critical Worker children whose parents cannot work from home and those classed as vulnerable outlined in the government guidance will be able to attend school until further notice.
  • Saturday 2 January 2021 Reopening for the New Year Dear Parents / Carers,I am writing to try to keep you all updated with the developing news about schools opening for the new term next week. The attached letter explains the current situation and I will keep you updated as soon and as best as I can.   • Friday 18 December 2020 12 Top Tech Tips for Christmas Our i-Vengers set the school a task - to think about important safety tips for staying safe with the technology we may receive or use over Christmas. The i-Vengers have gathered together the tips from all of the classes and compiled their 12 Top Tech Tips for Christmas.
  • Wednesday 16 December 2020 Christmas Celebration Video We are very pleased to be able to share our Christmas Celebration video with you. The children have enjoyed learning Christmas carols and songs and they have re-told the Christmas story with readings from the Bible. The children in Explorers also had a great time getting into costumes to create tableaus of the Christmas story. We hope you enjoy it and we would like to wish you a very "Merry Christmas!"
