Vision and Values
At Stanley Common Church of England Primary School, all pupils are valued and nurtured as individuals in a place where the Christian values of thankfulness, generosity, compassion, courage, forgiveness, friendship, respect are embedded into every area of school life.
Pupils are taught to apply the Christian principles of ‘love your neighbour as yourself’, and ‘treat others as you would want to be treated yourself’, into their lives both in school and outside in the wider community.
Both staff and pupils have the opportunity to explore their own beliefs set in an environment of openness, acceptance, tolerance and honesty. Our school is a place where all have the opportunity to consider their understanding of the Christian faith, what it means to them and how it impacts on their lives.
The children in our school said,
“Spirituality is not something we can see; it is something we feel inside ourselves”.
Our school motto: Enjoy, believe, aim high, achieve.
Enjoy
Appreciate and rejoice in the life that has been given to us and all that life has to offer.
Believe
Having faith in Jesus and believing in ourselves.
Aim High
Aspire to be the best we can be learning, growing, giving and receiving.
Achieve
Reaching our goals. It is about awe and wonder, asking questions, inspiration and being aware of something ‘bigger’ outside of ourselves.
Our school vision: ‘Life in all its fullness’ John 10
In the Bible, John 10 vs 1:10 tell us that Jesus said,
“I have come that they may have life in all its fullness.”
At Stanley Common Church of England Primary School, we believe that life in all its fullness is about living a varied and full life – full of learning, growing, helping, respect, joy, awe and wonder and caring for each other.
We all strive to provide the best provision for all of the pupils who attend our school. This includes their academic education, Christian values, British values and behaviours. We teach the knowledge and skills that will help our pupils to become life-long learners, respectful citizens and successful members of the global community. We strongly believe that the goodness you sow will reap positive outcomes in the diverse world in which we live.
